Who Owns It's Olio?
It's Olio is proudly owned by Alec Randall, an Adelaide-based entrepreneur with a passion for quality olive oil and local produce. The inspiration started after travelling throughout Italy, where Alec found his olive for quality ingredients, the returning he spent his entire savings on olive oil and starting It's Olio.

Yes, It’s Olio is 100% Australian-owned and operated, celebrating the best of South Australian produce. It’s all South Australian and a complete product of Australia.
What Does "Extra Virgin" Mean for Olive Oil?
"Extra Virgin" means the olive oil is made from the first pressing of fresh olives, free from chemicals, with an acidity of less than 0.8%.
What Does "Cold_pressed" Mean for Olive Oil?
"Cold-pressed" means that the olive oil is extracted from the olives without using heat or chemicals. The olives are crushed and then pressed to release the oil, and the process is done at a temperature below 27°C. This method helps preserve the oil's natural flavours, aromas, and nutritional properties, such as antioxidants and healthy fats. It’s considered the best way to extract high-quality extra virgin olive oil, ensuring the oil is pure and free from any harmful additives or processing methods.
What Does Harvest Date Mean?
The harvest date indicates when the olives were picked and processed, ensuring you’re getting fresh, high-quality oil. Always look out for this on a bottle you buy from a supermarket as there has been cases of old and rancid bottles sold.
What Does "Good" Olive Oil Taste Like?
Good olive oil has a balanced flavour with fruity, peppery, and slightly bitter notes, reflecting its freshness and quality. If it's super bland and smooth, there is a chance that it's a more old or blended.
Why Is There Something in My Oil?
Sediment or cloudiness is natural and occurs when olive oil is unfiltered, preserving its full flavour and nutrients. Olive skin also will make it's way into cold-pressed olives on occasions.

Olive oil prices reflect the care, labour, and premium ingredients required to produce high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Climate change is causing lower yields world-wide, resulting in less supply and higher demand.
